License Issue with JQuery Impromptu

Project:jQuery Impromptu
Version:6.x-1.x-dev
Component:Code
Category:bug report
Priority:normal
Assigned:obsidiandesign
Status:active
Description

The JQuery Impromptu library is licensed under the Apache 2.0 License, which is not GNU/GPLv2 license compatible (it is, in fact, GNU/GPLv3 compatible). To be included in CVS on drupal.org, the library must be GNU/GPLv2. Therefore, I've temporarily disabled releases to comply with drupal.org requirements.

Options to solve:
Add a link to the module page + README file + installation instructions to download & save into the module folder the JQuery Impromptu JS file
Move downloads off-site
Remove module from Drupal.org - currently I use JQuery Impromptu with the CCK Field Privacy module - there is an open issue (and I'm currently experimenting with integrating) to move from JQuery Impromptu to Popups API #320467: Any plan to integrate with Popups?, which would eliminate the need for this module, in theory.

Any input? The file has been removed from CVS for the time being, so downloads from there won't fix the lack of releases.

#1

Temporarily, I've gone with #1 to fix an issue with the path in the module, to help out CCK Field Privacy.
