To where does your domain
To where does your domain name point? If you want it to point to your intranet then you must configure your local network to point that name correctly. What type of network do you have and what OS's are on it?

If you don't understand how
If you don't understand how to configure a network like me, I will recommend to use its IP address instead of a domain name. Remember to add the port number of the Drupal server, if you are using WAMP. (In MAMP, the default port number is 8888, instead of the regular 80 for a web server).
In order to set up a network, I think you need to understand IP address, sub net mask, domain name, and DNS, at least.
You would have to configure
You would have to configure your network to see the "domain name" as being local. You should just host it somewhere instead.
