Can't change additional information text

I am trying to change the 'additional' infomartion text in the forms using tadmin/build/contact/settings. It presents me with the defauklt text. I change it, press 'save configuration' and it comes back 'configuration saved' but it is not saved - the same default words appear? I have cleared cache, unibstalled and installed again - but no luck?
Hmmm - any ideas?

Obviously that should not be happening. The only ideas I have is if you are using IE you need to clear your browser cache and maybe there is a problem with your MySQL Database or there may be some weird intereaction with another module.
