Every time I click to another page, or even just refresh, the Guests Online counter goes up by one. This happens even when I am logged on and users online = 1. I have also noticed that when I am logged in as administrator and access the admin pages I will get an access denied error in the log for user anonymous for every page accessed. Can someone tell me what causes this problem?

I saw that once on my site, I think I caused it with some php code I had embedded in a page/node. What additional modules do you have installed/active?

I have only the modules that come with Drupal installed. I have not created any additional php code. Active modules include:

admin, aggregator, archive, block, blog, blogapi, comment, contact, drupal, filter, help, menu, node, page, ping, poll, profile, search, statistics, story, system, taxonomy, title, tracker, upload, user and watchdog.

From System requirements in the handbooks

As of Drupal 4.6, the CMS requires PHP version 4.3.3+ (PHP 5 is supported for the 4.6 release). Drupal 4.2 to 4.5.2 inclusive require PHP version 4.1+. Older versions of Drupal will run on PHP 4.0.6+. We recommend using the latest version of PHP 4.x.

I think that you should consider upgrading your php installation

EDIT:
OUPS! I read something wrong there, I'm so sorry!
