Why my changes in .po translation file not showing?
FanisTsiros - December 9, 2008 - 20:47
I used the Translation template extractor (potx) to create a pot file for a module not translated in my language.
I used my po editor to translate strings in my language. After that i upload the .po file in a (module's) translations directory and everything was ok.
But
When i made some minor changes in my .po file and re-upload .po file and -> clear cache -> clear browser's cache -> clear cache manually -> run cron my changes are not there !
Are translated strings stored somewhere ?
Any idea how can i show my edited strings ?
Thanks in advance.

Translations are not dynamic
Translations are imported only once. If you make any other changes in the translation file, Drupal will not notice them.
You can force the reimport of translation with the localization client module: http://drupal.org/project/l10n_client.
Translations are imported only once...
Oh yes !
you are right ! I didn't know that.
I then, found that translations stored in "locales_target" table in db. I cleared this table and all translated strings gone! ... made a backup before ;-)
Well, i'll try http://drupal.org/project/l10n_client module.
Thanks for your help.

easy way to import translated module .po
Is there a way to drupal 6 import the translated .po for a module?
A way to automatically scan and import new translation from the directory module, eg: modules//translations/pt_pt.po
Drupal 6 imports the translation only once
Please note that Drupal 6 already imports translated modules .po files when properly names and in the translations folder.
It will import the file only once. So if you want to force the upload of a new version, you need to use a contrib tool. I think that the localization client module will let you do that.

Where?
Hi,
I have installed this module, but i can not find the option to update po files.
Where can i do that?
You need to refresh instead
You need to refresh instead of clearing cache.
There is a refresh tub in Translate interface menu.
I am unable to find the refres tab in the translate interface
Where is it located?
I want to for a refresh / reimport of .po files on the system...
