broncos88 - October 18, 2005 - 22:05

This is my navigation that i want to achieve and once i figure out the first one and i add in more. Please don't ask me to search for it because i have searched and can't seem to find the right answer.

My site
About Me
News
Contact
Reviews
Manga
American Comics

i have added About me and so on like this
Content > Create content > page

I have added "My site" like so
Administer > Categories > Add vocabulary > Add term

when i create a page about me, i do see About me term and i link the page to that.

my question is how i can add My site > About me to the navigation.

how to add links to menu

i mean my menu is like so

My site

  • About Me
  • News
  • Contact
    Reviews
  • Manga
  • American Comics
  • Turn on menu module.

    Turn on menu module.
    Go to admin >> menu
You can create a new menu here. When you create a new menu, you will need to turn it on in admin >> blocks

Menu items must point to existing content.

how to add links to menu

    broncos88 - October 19, 2005 - 00:46

OK, i followed your suggestion and i am able to add "About Us" link as menu itme to the default navigation menu. I went futher by adding a new menu called "My Site" and edit "About Us" to this new menu. My question is how i can turn it on or add it to the navigation as a new block.

Back to your suggestion where i have to turn it on in admin > blocks. do you mean i have to add a new block called "My Site" and enable it to eithe left or right? this is not it, right because i did that and it did not work.

am i missing a step somewhere?

    Good so far then.

    Good so far then.

When you create a new menu that should automatically create a new block. You should have a new block called My Site in your Admin >> blocks.

You will need to enable it so it is visible.

damn, you are right. i kept

    broncos88 - October 19, 2005 - 03:26

damn, you are right. i kept staring at the blocks and i didn't even know it was there. thank you. this is more than enough for me to plug in the rest of information to build my site.

my next big thing is this and i wonder if i can achieve it with drupal. we publish comics books and we want to give away chapters to users to view in advance. a chapter contains 10 to 20 images in jpg format.

users need to register so that they can view these so i guess the registration part will be taken care of with drupal. the free books are what i don't know what the best way to do. i am thinking to use book or story module to do this.

is this how you would do it?
create content > book page/story > once i create a page, i keep adding child pages to it

please give me your input if you can or you may know better way or contribute that can do this

    A little different direction

A little different direction then I use sites for. I suggest you look at the ecommerce module, it has a subscription feature. Good luck.

    I'd try doing them as

    Cricket - October 19, 2005 - 14:56

I'd try doing them as images. Think there's an image module.

    Or do them as attachments.

    If I understand you

If I understand you correctly, you basically want to show a preview of your books as a way to get people interested. Check out this link for how to show previews in Drupal. I don't know the exact answer to your question, but it is possible that you may get an idea or two from this:

    I guess something like that

I guess something like that will do for authentication.
