Multistep registration form depending on autoassigned role

steven215 - December 11, 2008 - 17:36

Hi,

((ALL THIS IS FOR DRUPAL 6.6))

I'm currently creating my first Drupal website and my first problem comes up here.
For my registration process, I installed the Auto Assign Role module in order to allow user to select a role. So this works perfectly !

But i'll like to go a step further and have my user filling up a form depending on the role they just choose.

Concretely:
Multipage registration:
First page:
User choose enter their username, email, password and their role (normal or pro)

Second page:
If the user is a "normal user", a form asking for example his hobbies, his birthday ...
If the user is a "pro user", a form asking for example the address of his company, the name of the owner of the company (and to make it perfect a payment module, but this can wait)

I think you have pretty much the process in mind.

I looked over and over on the website and this is frequently asked but no concrete solution exist.

Does anyone has a clue ?

Thank you very much.

Me too!

I've not tried it yet, but i think you could come close by using the content_profile module and setting up a trigger/action to redirect to the appropriate content_profile content type after the initial user registration.

Dear All,
I am really new to drupal (installed today).
I think I will solve this problem in the following way:
1)register and choose a group
2)when you confirm responding to the email that redirect to change the password the page have also proper other info visible.

Did I made my point?

Bye.

With the help of modules, this can be done

dkaswan - June 11, 2009 - 05:48

This task can be done with the help of some modules:
Pageroute
profile_setup
content_profile

I saw a live example on http://drupalsn.com/.... check it out the process while registering yourself on this site. If anyone get success please post the 'steps to follow'. thnx
