Duplicated functionality of "Active tags"?

It seems this module is very similar to the older and more widely used http://drupal.org/project/active_tags perhaps you might consider approaching them to merge your functionality into the older module?
Or is there a key difference i am missing?

Woow. Other than the interface, I don't find any major difference between the two. I have emailed the active_tags's maintainer for a possible merge.

I haven't heard back from him yet. Either he's away/too busy, or maybe he isn't convinced for moving tag_editor interface to active_tags, OR maybe he's fine with the two separate modules with similar functionality but different interface.

Oh, actually I found him active in active tags' issues, so I'm just wondering what might be it. I'll try to get a reply from him again.

No response yet. I guess I'll have to assume that the author of Active tags is absolutely happy with co-existence of Tag editor. I'll keep this issue active until we mention the same in README.txt file.

Looks like overlap here, but not had chance to try the alternative module yet.

Active Tags does not seem to have autocomplete functionality while this one does.
I personally am looking for autocomplete func, plus function to allow anonymous and registered users to suggest new terms which get into an approval queue.

I think the difference in interface is enough to warrant for tag_editor. Right? :)
