I love drupal. With that being said, I am running it on FC4... which uses PHP5. However, I need to integrate Knowledge Tree DMS which hasn't been ported to PHP5 yet and won't be ported for a few more months. I guess I am just stuck with v4 'til its Knowledge Tree is ported but what are the benefits of using PHP5 in Drupal? Is there really a difference?

Drupal still runs best on 4.x.

Great link Anton! Thanks. That is good to know too. It also helps me with my linux distribution decision. I was going to deploy an FC4 box but now I might look at a Debian fork.

Agree. My web server has been running debian for nearly 7 years now ;-)

Sarge gives you PHP4 and MySQL 4.1 which is more than enough.

I'd tend to stay away from PHP5 for a while yet as it's not exactly feature-stable and all the new OO gubbins are just MORE abstraction and overhead to deal with.
