Hi all!

Happy Friday wherever you are. Okay.. potentially silly question. We have a custom built, beautiful Ruby site with very little admin, reporting, user management tools. So.. frontend is all great.. backend not so much. Can Drupal or something similar be used to fulfil just the above.. without fulfiling the 'front end' of the site? Somewhere to view new members, manage them, flagged content, reports etc.. or are we asking too much here?

Any suggestions would be great and thank you!

Drupal is something you build the entire site with.

It should be possible to port the content, look and feel to Drupal, but whether or not it is worth the effort is a completely different question. It may just be easier (at least in the short term) to add the features you want to the existing site.

It is possible with Services modules, where your frontend talks to backend through API such as XML-RPC, JSON, REST, etc.

But it might not worth the effort in long run. Running off full Drupal might be simpler, since maybe only a new theme is needed.
