I am looking for ways to play a movie on the main pages of a drupal-6 site that does not restart when going to an other page by clicking a menu. The page content changes but the movie must keep on playing.
It will not be on all pages, only the frontpage and top-level pages selected by menu.
Is this possible?

how about using a new popup windows for the video?

a popup is no solution. It must be a video playing on the same page while navigating the site.

Then you have to look at ajaxifying the entire site-- not a trivial undertaking. See the http://drupal.org/project/asynchronous module.
