On December 1st, NBC Sports and MTV announced the creation of ALLI, the Alliance of Action Sports™. ALLI is a global business that joins the former Action Sports Tour properties (AST) with Maloof Money Cup, AMA Motocross Championship and King of Wake series to create the most diverse and robust action-sports offering in the world. The new umbrella brand, which will continue to be co-owned by NBC Sports and MTV, will offer a schedule of seven national and international action sports tours and events, multimedia content and production, a digital hub and consumer-facing lifestyle brands.

Building on the successful foundation of AST, ALLI will serve as the owner and operator of the Dew Tour and Winter Dew Tour, Free Flow Tour, and the China Invitational. In addition, ALLI has formed partnerships with industry leaders and premier properties: Maloof Money Cup, the AMA Motocross Championships, and the King of Wake series.

We are very proud to announce that Drupal was selected as the CMS that powers the cornerstone of their brand. Allisports.com launched on Dec 1st, 2008 and showcases Drupal's flexibility and power.

Highlights

1) The Main Splash Page - http://www.allisports.com/

Why? This main splash page is totally configurable from the content management system. Each slide is a CCK node that is being loaded up into the flash file. The navigation along the bottom is dynamically loaded from taxonomy terms. It can take Images or Flash videos. Rad.

2) The Individual Tour Pages - http://www.allisports.com/tours/winter-dew-tour

Why? Check out these mini versions of the main splash page. They allow content tagged within a certain Tour to be managed via the CMS and CCK. Though not shown here, these slides can also feature more than one button and a sponsor logo.

3) AlliTV - http://www.allisports.com/shows

Why? Ultra tight integration with MTV's content delivery network. Widgets to embed, etc. We made heavy use of the Drupal feed parser.

4) The Tour Overview - http://www.allisports.com/tours

Why? Check out the flash widget at the top. That little sucker hits up all the Tour nodes and loads up all the child events and plots them on this great little calendar control.

5) There is a lot more. Go explore the site. Did I mention I love Drupal?

What an awesome site-- I'm constantly awed by the amazing power of drupal. I'd love to hear some more details about the flash integration.

Congrats on job well done!

Could you explain the following please:

The athletes profiles?

1. Are they athlete owned
or
2. Admin created?

How do you associate fans, pictures & videos to the athletes' profiles?

Thank you

The athlete profiles are currently owned by the content managers / site editors (although this may change in the future).

The associations between fans, pictures and videos is all handled by the Node Auto Term [NAT] module and are designated during content submission. In this case of Videos, this information is automatically imported from MTV when importing a video (since the videos are marked with an insane amount of metadata).

If you are interested in getting into a lower level of detail, I can have one the dev's jump on here and explain the architecture in greater detail.

The reason I asked about the media association to profile, is because I have a celebrity social site am working on, and would love the public to add media, and have the media attached to celebrity profiles.

Like your case, my profiles will be admin owned.

If you are interested in getting into a lower level of detail, I can have one the dev's jump on here and explain the architecture in greater detail.

Please do. They could write a brief write-up about the site build

Cheers

Hi droople -

I've got a dev scheduled to give me a writeup by tomorrow morning (Pacific). I'll post it up as soon as he does.

Cheers.

An amazing example of a Drupal powered website, congratulations! Is a write up planned at all?

Ashfield212 -

What sort of writeup would you like to see? A full case study /w screenshots etc? Description of data architecture, client problem, etc?

Something like the business friendly case studies at http://drupal.org/node/233090 ?

Let me know exactly what you would like to know and I will arrange it (hopefully before the holidays).

Kind Regards,

Jordan

This site is definitely worthy of a full case study of the type you linked above.
