Doesn't work at all: wrong nodes shown, wrong nodes being selected

I thought I had this all working with rc4 and asmselect 1.0.4.
However it's now gone totally mental.
I have several noderef fields on a content type, each of which attaches different types, eg images, audio, Ubercart products.

When I edit the node, nodes from the wrong field are shown as attached. Eg, in the shop items I see an image node, even though when the node is being viewed, it's correctly a product node in that field.
Trying to select further nodes goes all wrong too. I pick a title from one of the drop-downs, and *something totalyl different* gets added to the asm widget.

Looking at the HTML source, all of the widgets have ID 'asmContainer0'. Might this be part of the problem?
