just found out on some of my nodes(not all of them), revisions are added without my consent. i used node_privacy module, not sure if it's caused by node_privacy or by drupal itself. not sure how I can turn "revision" totally off as it jammed up my site.

Revisions are only created if it's enabled for the node and if the node is updated in one way or another. If you want to disable revisions, you should disable "Create new revision" on the content types and on the existing nodes.
