I notice that after I post on shoutbox it resolves to the homepage of my site, rather than the page I was on. This is an issue for me as I don't have the shoutbox block on my page.

I'm also having this issue. I'd say about 3/4 of the time it does this.

I have the same issue, but just in IE.

I'd recommend trying the 2.x branch of Shoutbox. There is no upgrade path from 1.x to 2.x, so you'd have to uninstall and reinstall (nuking existing shouts). But a lot has been fixed and a lot has been added (like OG integration).
