THANKS

I am a hostgator user. I found this link most helpful. It appears to have solved my problem in 3 minutes! This is a relief after searching for an hour online for "caching problems causing calendar to get stuck."

I think CRON is the key to my "date stuck" problem and needing to manually flush the cache. Proof will be in the pudding ... or in the cache!

I don't see why you complain..

Who made you watch this video? If you don't need it, don't do it.

It's well done and very helpful for new Drupal users.

Drupal Cron Jobs

Thanks

Thanks for the vid.

For being as long as it is

I was expecting a little more in-depth look at crontab and the cron scripts, but I think this video is aimed at a beginner audience which I can understand.

Please post something I can print

I have to document this site so we can put together our disaster recovery plan. I can't print or easily archive a video. When we're recovering our site, we don't have time to watch videos, we need to have a cookbook that someone stepping in can handle.

Please post docs!

poormans cron

Just confirming - If I configure cron.php to run regularly, can I and should I disable poormans cron? Conversely, does having poormans cron run regularly mean that I do not need to have cron run on a schedule (as opposed to task-associated).

Yes and yes.

Yes and yes.

Is this the right link?

I'm on DSL and the video link doesn't open besides a message "The server at gotdrupal.com is taking too long to respond."

Protect cron.php

HI, I did as you recommend in your video about protecting cron.php in .htaccess but still cron can be visited and run in anonymous mode.

What should I do? Thanks for your great help!
