Different Images displayed for different sections e.g. media:content, media:thumbnail and teaser

media:content and media:thumbnail display the original picture, not the The ImageCache Preset and the Image Module Picture Size

However the good pictures display in the feed teasers when you choose for example "Title plus single picture plus teaser".

This is as it is meant to be written so that the original image is the one linked to when loading media RSS feeds in other programs.

I can add a extra option to choose which image is link in separate from the teaser? What do you think.

Yes it would be nice like that, because sometimes external websites want to have the thumbnail separatly from the teaser and the teaser in plain text in order to include the thumbnail where and how they want. Currently they have to process the picture to make a thumbnail, moreover media:content and media:thumbnail is the same file.

So the perfect set up would be :

- Teaser
-- CCK ImageField :
-- ImageCache Preset :
-- Image Module Picture Size :

- Media:content
-- CCK ImageField :
-- ImageCache Preset :
-- Image Module Picture Size :

- Media:thumbnail
-- CCK ImageField :
-- ImageCache Preset :
-- Image Module Picture Size :

That way the teaser text without the picture can be provided (with the Default RSS Display), a thumbnail can be provided with media:thumbnail, and the external website can further process the picture with media:content (for example if they need a larger thumbnail).

Not too much although could be little tricky. I wasn't think about thumbnail and content so will definitely separate those.

ImageCache Preset will be easy to add separate values for, so will image module picture size.

However CCK ImageField I won't separate because for media:content and media:thumbnail they should be the same image even if they are different sizes.
I might separate it for the teaser though.

Does this sound ok or can it be improved.

I don't get it, are we talking about the same thing ? Yes media:content and media:thumbnail represent the same image, and in different sizes. But they do not represent the same file, because the first could be the full size picture (eg : /files/picture1.jpg) and the second could be a Thumbnail preset generated by ImageCache (eg : /files/imagecache/thumbnail/picture1.jpg)

I'm a bit confused :)

ImageFields - You choose this once, this defines which fields will represent media entries (not all imagefield fields will be added if you don't want them too)

ImageCache - You will be able to choose this for each of teaser, thumbnail and content (Image module size will be same)

I have attached an example form to explain it a bit better. It doesn't include image module size fields

ImageFields => I get it ! I wasn't talking about choosing which fields will represent media entries in ImageFields (since I only have 1 ImageField for the moment), but for sure this would be an awesome feature often asked for !
