using images to defeat automatic signup?

I was wondering if there was a module that would add to the user registration form one of those autogenerated images with a set of letters/numbers in it which force a user to type them in for the registration to complete? I am building a site and am concerned about spam-type robots automatically signing up. I guess the default email confirmation is good, but that can still be worked around with a fairly simple script.
