I looked for a module that could print out all the enabled modules but couldn't find one. This one would be useful when doing core updates . Any idea how to easily see all the enabled modules?

can't one just print the administer -> modules screen ?

or enable the update status.module and print that screen when necessary ?

The available updates (Administer > Reports > Available updates or admin/reports/updates) page should give you a list of the modules that are installed and their respective version numbers.

I cannot praise highly enough the sitedoc module to get all details that you may want when researching a problem with your site.

I would not want to do without it. Try it and, I bet, you won't want to have a site witout it again.
