System update returns blank page after running updates

I'm not sure if this is postgres specifc issue or not, but have noticed that when running updates, rather than getting a results page after the updates have run, I get a blank white page instead. No idea why. To reproduce this bug, try installing drupal on postgres then applying this patch http://drupal.org/node/342503#comment-1164950 which has an uncommited update in it (21/12/08) then run the update script, you'll see what I mean.

Also feel free to test the patch while your at it (if not already committed).

Alternatively, you can just add an update function to any .install file and attempt to run the script.
