Restricting exposure to active lists

Description

I'm looking to use this module to link some of my Drupal sites into phplist functionality. The readme that I've just downloaded with the stable D5 version states : "Which phpList mailing lists will appear in Drupal? All mailing lists which are marked as 'active'."

Am I correct in assuming that all active lists will be shown to Drupal users? If so this means I need a separate install of phplist for each Drupal site that I want to link, which seems like overkill. This got me to thinking that it would be more elegant if I could just have a single installation of phplist which could link to all my Drupal sites, using maybe a phplist admin user to filter the lists that were available to any given Drupal site.

Assuming this functionality is not in place, is it on the to do list? I note the message about sponsorship, and while I doubt that I could fund a significant chunk of work, I would be willing to make a small contribution towards this sort of functionality.

Graham

Hi,

This feature fits in alongside what someone else has asked for, which is restricting access to lists based on assigned roles. If I can scrape together maybe a day's worth of sponsorship, I could set aside 3 days to buckle down and code up at the same time these smaller features that are being asked for.

Any luck with this feature? Would be a great improvement and make administering lists much easier.

Hi richygecko,

Sorry nothing to report yet. Not a lot has been forthcoming on the sponsorship front, and I'm already investing half my working time on a not-yet-paying project I am afraid I am having the prioritise my time to any paid work I have. It *is* still definitely on the plans though.

Hi,

Good news - I got some time last week to do a first draft of this. Please see the latest D6-DEV version - try it and let me know what you think.

Regards,

- Paul
