Hi,

I installed de adsense basic module (no revenue sharing) but I see that if a user modifies his profile, he has the option to enter his own Google AdSense client ID. I unserstand that if I have the basic module the users should not have this option. I have these modules installed:

AdSense core and API 5.x-2.1

AdSense Injector 5.x-2.6

Adsense basic 5.x-2.1

And I see no option to change this.

Any idea?

You are using an older version of the module. Use the latest beta in 5.x-3.x series.

In the newer version, revenue sharing is a separate module, so you will not see what you are seeing now.

I downloaded the new module and istalled it, but I sitll have the same problem...

I'm using the "old code ad" as the new ones don't work (it gives me an url error or I have no ads at all).

Then the background colour and font colour are diferent (now I have black background and grey letters, before it was white background and blue letters), I tried to change the chanel config (as is the only one where I see I can modify these parameters) but it gives me always the error : colour must be between 000000 and FFFFFF ....

Yes, the old ad code may be doing that.

I was using the old ad code with the old 5.x-2.x version and converted to new ad code with the 5.x-3.x version.

You have to go into your adsense account and generate new ad slots, and use them.

First of all thanks for your help!

I will try it right now and let you know.

Yessssssss! It works!

But I still have the problem with the Google AdSense client ID... if I create a new user and I go to "modify profile" they have the option to put their own Google AdSense client ID... :-?

Strange. with 6.x-1.x (which is the 6.x version of 5.x-3.x) I simply go to admin/settings/adsense/publisher and set the publisher ID.

I only have the following modules enabled: Adsense core, adsense click tracking, cse search, managed ads. I did not enable revenue sharing because I don't need it. I thought this was what you want: no revenue sharing, so don't enable that module, and don't create a profile field for it.

Yes, that's exactly what I want, but it works like revenue sharing... :-?

I just have these modules enabled:

basic, core, injector, CSE Search,Managed Ads...

And there's one more thing...I just have one ad per module, if they're vertical I can see that they're cut like they're spreading horizontally, and if I put it horizontaly there's just one as well but wit the <> button to move trouhg them... with the old module I didn't have this problem.

Now I'm using the "old code ad" , at least I have all the ads and not just one... I cannot change the colours but it's ok. Anyway I still have the problem that the users are allowed to put their own Adsense ID... :-( I tried to put my own Adsense ID in a test user profile and it does accept it, and if I click "delete" button it deletes the user... Do you think there's something I can delete from the module to avoid this problem?... as you can understand this is a big issue for me.

Thanks.

Today I tried to delete the module folder and put again the folder that I downloaded with the last version but I still have the problem with the users and the Adsense ID.I even tried to delete the Revenue Sharing folder with no result.

Now I tried to install the Revenue Sharing Option. The only thing that changes is that in AdSense-->Publisher ID-->Site ID there are 2 possible selections instead of one. Before there was just "Use the site Publisher ID always" and now there's one more: "Revenue sharing (basic)" and no changes to my problem. Then I unistalled the Revenue Sharing and both options disapeared but I still have the same problem. :-o

It could even not be a big problem if they have the option to enter the AdSenseID but how do I know that it's not working for them? 'cos if the problem persists but it's useless for them, then it could be ok (I think that a lot of my users don't even know what AdSense is) but I should be 100% shure there's no revenue sharing.

Ok, last test I did: completely remove AdSense and AdSense Injector modules, run update.php and....surprise!! my users still have the option to put their own AdSenseID :-D ... I keep trying and see what's going on...

Version: 5.x-2.1 » 5.x-3.x-dev

The reason why your users still have the option to add their own AdSense ID is that you haven't deleted the field you created when you installed the module (remember those instructions? It was a manual step...).

Since that field is not automatically added by the module, it is not automatically removed by the module also..

Simply go to 'admin/user/profile' and delete that field..
