In the internationalization module there is a module for synchronizing translations. This works great with cck fields, but not with the licese. If the license info was stored as a kind of cck field, then it would be able to translate it without special coding or integration with synchronize translation.

Solved by using my own Creative Commons and Copyrights computed field and node type.
