I am interested and have been interested in Drupal but it seems way over my head. I have a website that i would like to use drupal for instead of the current web application. I wold like to find a black theme. I also want to be able to eliminate certain elements for a page which my website will not need or use. Is it possible? or am I stuck with the parameters of the themes? I do not need a database as such - but a general web page. I am trying to make my editing and updating of the site easier than the actual physical layout manipulations that I have to use on my current web application. It is tedious and a nightmare. also getting the links and rollovers, etc. are a real pain. Can this be done in drupal?

Thank you. I am absolutely 100% new to this. I would like to use it but I am lost, lost, lost, and also confused.

Thanks. This seems like a bad idea. To much techie stuff for me to figure out. and minimal support here too. leads to catastrophe.

Minimal support huh? And you can make that determination from all of approximately 2.5 hours of waiting for a reply? Yep, sounds like you'd probably be better off using something else-- more than likely something where you can pay for the type of response time you're expecting as it's not likely to come solely from open source.

And drupal requires a db-- as do most other CMSs.

i am sure you can find a them that fits your needs, browse the themes directory. It does not sound complicated - your project.

Drupal is very flexible, but not ideal for non-technical users. I tried Joomla before I switched to Drupal, and found its user interface to be much more friendly. It is less flexible and that is why I decided not to use it, but it may be more suitable for what you need.
