Installing YUI Rich Text Editor in drupal 6

json916 - December 24, 2008 - 17:33

I have downloaded and installed both the YUI and YUI Rich Text Editor modules, However when i enable the YUI Rich Text Editor module i get a fatal error "Call to undefined function module_exists()". Any suggestions on installing the YUI Rich Text Editor in drupal 6 would be appreciated.

Can't give you instructions

but the documentation in YUI (readme) got me through my trivial install. Have your run cron and cleared your cache?

(I have since uninstalled it as I found it clunky in design and slow to render -- high CPU overhead)

I like FCKEditor much better, but you didn't ask, so I won't tell you that.

Teasers?

I currently use FCKEditor, it does the job but with high difficulty, has a lot of bugs and is clunky.
I installed YUI, it works fine, however there are two issues I want to correct:
1. If I want to edit an old post that was designed with FCKEditor, it doesn't recognize the Teaser section.
2. Doesn't have any option for a teaser!!

help! if you can get me any solutions I would very much appreciate.

note: I tried TinyMCE and it doesn't have a teaser as well.

I didn't seek vindication, but

All modules here have bugs, so it goes in softland.

After using FCK more extensively on two separate projects, I continue not to miss YUI -- but that's merely anecdotal.

The problem isn't FCK prior usage to a node, rather, YUI apparently doesn't have a teaser button (or expose teaser easily)

Google is quite handy.
