Log in with E-mail | drupal.org

Is there a way to configure a site to have users log-in with their e-mail rather than username? (Profiles would be private, of course.)

Check out the LoginToboggan module, which doesn't appear to require a patch to the Drupal code. Haven't tried it myself, but it looks promising.
