I read the handbook and I'm working fine with my new drupal site but there are a pair of things I don't understand

1. why my q=?node is still showing the same information as if I just installed drupal? (http://skatecoffee.net/words/?q=node)

2. why the articles I wrote with admin profile are showing two times in recent articles block and recent articles' page? (http://skatecoffee.net/words/?q=article)
