when a image is posted via a story node
is there a way where the image can be automatically posted into a existing gallery

so that all images can be viewed via gallery plus
the url of the image is
http://mysite.com/somegallery/image.gif
rather than
http://mysite.com/image.gif

may be missing something simple here
but need help as have tried various options inc module taxomony manager with no luck

Sorry, unfortunately this request is way too specific. Please have a look at the issue queue - Image maintainers are buried already. You might want to try to get further support at http://drupal.org/support. Additionally, the answer to your question might be covered in the handbooks at http://drupal.org/handbook/modules/image already.
