Is there a module for Drupal ves. 6 that can implement a directory of companies/web sites?
I am looking for something similar to SOBI2 in Joomla (http://www.sigsiu.net/sobi2.html).

The users need to be able to add new listings that I want to review before posting.
I also need a search functionality and category tree browsing.

Can CCK replicate the functionality?

Hey Rob:

Yep, that's basically cck + taxonomy + something like moder8 (http://drupal.org/project/modr8) working together. But it would be a heck of a powerful system - better in terms of flexibility than the one you link to (as you can combine this with everything else you build in your site as you grow - think about location based services, people, aggregated content from youtube/flickr, etc, etc...)

I think you'll also want to check out the location and gmap modules as well.
