I am not facing this error. Please use the dev version, in case you aren't. Also, make sure you clear your browser cache so that the latest updated JS file is being used.

there is a problem only in Firefox

I'm not getting any such error :-(
I am using the latest dev version of Vote Up/Down on the demo site (http://pratul.in) and you can try and see, there's no such error!

I have also run into this issue. Using the latest version of firefox - 3.06. The error does not occur with IE7.

The same problem here in Firefox with the 6.1-beta2 version of this module combined with Drupal 6.9. In opera/safari nothing happens when I click up/down.
Any suggestions?

I patched the module as described by this checkin and things seem to be working:

someone test patch from #7 as I no longer use this module and can't test.
