Description

Hello,
Is it really possible to install a workable module in Drupal or one has to be content with what's already there and that is it?
I have tried to install both the tinymce and yui editors and I see nothing ... all files are there but ...
The modules' control pages are there ... but when tried to resolve the issue ... CHAOS!!!
there is not documentation for what goes where ... there are countless issues about the installations ...

Is that how it is with Drupal? ... one has to spend days just to install one module?
Is this really possible? !!!...

Couldn't it be made an internal installation process?
One has to fiddle around with FTP, Shell and Drupal control pages, follow vague instructions .............
And in the end, nothing works ... only the control pages work ...
the "Issues" pages for the modules are full with entries with people saying that they can't make the modules work ...

Someone told me to explain what the problem is in order to help me ...
And that's the whole issue ... there is no problem !!!... it just doesn't work ...
And If there is a problem, I don't even know what to say first (?!) ... to explain what ?...
the whole module installation process is just a mess ...
and from reading many entries from people talking about installing modules most seem that they give up....

So .... I guess one has to be content with whatever comes with the initial installation of Drupal ...

I see that your mood is detoriating by the hour:

http://drupal.org/node/351708

But common nmarkis, it's not so hard to manage your modules, but you will have to face a few things:
You will have to set-up your environment properly. You are complaining about FTP etc, but if you want to add contributed modules to your drupal site you will have to sent them your server one way or the other.
Before starting to build your site spend some time to your environment. When I download a module from d.org. it will take me only 5 mouse clicks to send it directly to the proper folder on my server.

Then I see you were having problems with Tinymce. Advice here is to do everything carefully step by step. Realize that TinyMce is a module to enable a third-party application (TinyMce WYSIWYG editor). Another advice, I too, started my site struggling with TMCE, but I doubt that's the most important thing for your site. Try first to make yr site robust.

As already mentioned to you: You will have to be specific on your problem to receive help. Even like you say, there's nothing wrong! Still you can provide info like: What happens if you click a button, what entries are there in your watchdog-log, any observation might help.

And most important: I think the community doesn't fear criticism, as long as it is founded and constructive. If you Do it like this there will be more chance on receiving help on this forum.
Good luck!
