Okay, so I went through David Mercer's Drupal book. It gave me a wonderful, gentle introduction to Drupal. I feel ever so slightly less n00b...

As I expected, when I look at "real" Drupal sites, I can spot many features which the book didn't tell me about. Not all of them strictly Drupal related, of course ! So the question is: what's next ? What book is more advanced but not too much ?

Thanks. That book will teach me how to create modules and styles, i.e. the inner workings of Drupal ?
I wonder if I really need to do this to create an effective, reasonably good looking website ?
If not, are there other books you could recommend ?

Using Drupal (http://usingdrupal.com/) from O'Reilly is geared more toward using existing Drupal modules to create web sites and might be more what you are looking for.
