We reworked the Drupal 5 1.x branch of Salesforce module (as described and with code here), in communication with the maintainer at the time but despite that there's now a couple different directions related to the work we did (and hoped not to be duplicate).
Are you interested in, are there places where you see it making sense from the standpoint of Webform Web2Lead, to get a more united front in a 6.x 2.x branch of the Salesforce module?

obsidiandesign commentedHi Benjamin,
Sure, a Drupal 6 port via integration with the main Salesforce module would make sense. The biggest reason this project existed was a client need, so that's why I haven't done a 6.x port (no one really asked for it). I think it's a great feature to have Webform + Salesforce, at any level, so getting this included in the 6.x-2.x Salesforce module branch would be awesome. I'll join in the discussion over there.

mlncn commentedAwesome. Same here, client need, but now they want more sites and we'd like to do them in Drupal 6! If I were smart, I probably would have implemented it more like you have here– clean and lightweight, looking at the code.
The only genuine enhancement in our (not so clean or lightweight) code appears to be that the available fields are gathered using the Salesforce API, rather than hardcoded, and this is the part of course most useful to share with all modules that want to do stuff with Salesforce.
Looking forward to potential collaboration!

amariotti commentedI went looking for the integration discussion and couldn't find anything. Have you guys discussed this any further?
In the next few months I will be interested in a port to 6.x for this module. Frankly the Salesforce Module has been untouched for a long time now. While I think it's a great module I'm not sure I have any need for integration with it, but others probably will. Does someone want to open up a discussion about this over there or should we just do that here?

obsidiandesign commentedI've ported the module to Drupal 6 and tested it with the current release of Webform. Some small changes, but all works well now.
