Twitter should have an XMPP interface for subscribers, posting when there is a new message. I am not sure if this has been put back up yet, but when it does get back up it will significantly increase the turn around time on messages from twitter to the tapatio software.

It doesn't look like twitter is ever going to bring back their xmpp interface.
