The attached patch adds a german translation and a translation template file for the current CVS DRUPAL-6--1 branch. Please apply the patch.

I would actually prefer to have you help translate through the Launchpad translation page which should be ready in a couple of days. The .pot file is being imported and reviewed by the launchpad team right now. Once it's ready, you can provide your translation strings at https://translations.launchpad.net/drupal-gravatar so that it can be reviewed by others and I can put them all in one place.
