To get service links to show in a share popup, I installed both modules with appropriate versions according to the instructions on the main share module page, but when I click on the share popup it goes to a "page not found," and the link is always cryptic - ie. example.com/share/%@F664. Anyone know what I could be doing wrong?

Try fully uninstalling Share and install it again. When uninstalling, don't forget that involves more than just disabling the module on the module list page.
