Could this be applied to a book or story?

This is a really cool effect! I realize it is designed for advertising, but it would also be cool to be able to use it to simulate a real live book. It would be especially cool with a touch screen monitor. Here is something that almost does it, but doesn't render text very well. What I am envisioning here is a page turning book reader for something like Project Gutenberg. It would take the ebook to a whole nuther level!
