I need someone to help me customize fivestars to show "helpful and not helpful" right below comment text - popsci style.

to me it looks like its a simple two star on coments and instead of stars helpful - not helpful images are being used.

Its just the count where it says x number of people out of y found this helpful that I can't get to work.

Any suggestions? :)

How would I show the text saying how many people voted what? Thats all I really want to do.

Use the Five Star module and limit the selection to two stars. Replace the star graphics with thumbs up/thumb down icons. You should be able to expose the rating counts to calculate the percentages.

It's possible the rating count values are already passed to the theme function. You can then add both ratings together and calculate the "helpful" (1 star, thumbs-up) and "unhelpful" (2 star, thumbs-down) percentages and output them next to each graphic.

See how far you can get and report back.
