By description it seems that both module provide similar features, however I havn't been able to actually test Menu Attributes because it lacks a .info file (?!).
In any case I'll keep watch.

Yeah, I have to say this looks like a duplicate module to me. Could you consider closig this module down and working with the earlier module instead? Combining forces would make things better for users and devs sharing workload. :-)

It looks like this project is being phased out in favor of menu_attributes, however this is not mentioned on the project page and can only be seen in CVS currently.
Can you state this clearly on the project page so people do not start any new projects with this module and immediately go with menu_attributes? Thanks!

@Cyberwolf, you are correct in assuming that I've begun the process of phasing out this project, however there are still a lot of bureaucratic issues I would like to clear before announcing the death of this project - the issues being clearing this with my employer (the sponsor of this module), asking for the best way to process such a change with drupal.org projects management (which I have yet to contact) and making sure the maintainer of menu_attributes (which I have tried to contact but still didn't get a reply) is aware that I am going to potentially send 300~ users who might wrongfully think issues with the migration are to blame on him and not on me :)
I should really speed things up to prevent more people from using a module with unclear status...

@daniboy: I too politely ask you for a clarification on your description page, as inquired by @Cyberwolf.
It took me about 1 hour to get aware that this project is phasing out, until I had realized the "obsolete" project tag. But it took me another hour (of googling and issue tracker browsing/searching) to find out by which project it gets obsoleted, being Menu Attributes.
A short notice could spare many people much effort. Thanks!
