I suggest to add the default nation to be set into configuration interface, this is especially useful for web sites that are referred to only one nation, helping 99% of people adding job posts to have just selected the long list of countries

Many of the fields like 'country' and 'state/province' are optional fields and the 'country' field in particular already has a 'null' value labelled as a double-dash '--'. By NOT setting a value for this field you omit it from display so I'm not clear on how you think creating a global configuration option to set this explicitly provides much added value.
