One of my clients would like to get rid of the Mollom logo and link from the captcha image. The reasons:
- Doesn't fit well with the site's visual design and the organisation's identity.
- Doesn't wish to advertise other businesses.
- Some (probably very few, but still) users click on it and end up on Mollom's site which is not relevant at all to them. When that happens, we're putting a hurdle/annoyance upon users who were in the process of achieving one of the main goals we want them to achieve on the site, lessening the odds that they complete it. Furthermore, it could be interesting to test why some users click on the image in the first place—since it is not an obvious link, perhaps they're hoping to zoom the image, or to refresh it, or to hear the audio captcha?
- Some of the audience doesn't speak English, so it is not that nice to link to an English-only site without any warning.
I have seen reCaptcha being rejected in the past for similar reasons.
Perhaps the logo/link are not shown with paid Mollom subscriptions, but if that's the case I could not find any info about it.
Mollom being of interest only to web developers, perhaps mentioning Mollom in the HTML source could even achieve the same results as the link currently provided?

dries commentedUpgrading to Mollom Plus will automatically cause the Mollom logo to disappear. See http://www.beyonceonline.com/us/user/register for an example.
We should mention that on the Mollom pricing page, I guess.

David Lesieur commentedThanks for the clarification and link. I guess the request will go as "won't fix" for free subscriptions? :)

sunI don't think there's a better place than http://mollom.com/pricing for this information.
