Multiple Blog Categories

Function Seeking:

When creating a blog post I would like to have the option to choose one of my 6 categories for the blog entry (and also the ability to have the post be categorized in more then one place) so when it is posted to the homepage of my blog I would like to have it auto archive (once a new post comes out) to one of the 6 categories I have which are also a primary link.

Once they are moved to the specific category/primary link i would want them to look like a normal blog page with a title, teaser and link to the full page.

I don't have a lot of money for the budget but hope someone can help.

Maybe even direct me to a forum if it isn't that complected.

ps. I have been trying to use the taxonomy module for a month with no luck.
