I recently installed 6.8 upgrading directly from 6.5. I ran the scripts, all of it worked fine.
I installed the date module + calendar though the crap still doesn't work. Scratched it, installed the gallery module, started configuring it but never got it to work. When I uninstalled Gallery, all my blue boxes, formating was gone. It seems to be a css problem but the css cached files are present.

I've recopied all the files, modules, reimported a 6.8 (without modules) db but I still can't get the theme to come back to normal!

In FF i get an error JQuery not loaded - but it seems to work well in the status report.
I've removed all extra modules, still no go.
I've reset the cache twice, still no better.

If i use the tabled themes (bluemarine), the layout works better but with Garland, the layout is all in one column!

The update.php page however looks correct!

What else can i do, 4 days im scratching my head on this and just can't find it!

Please help!

monsieurx,

I would make sure that the default theme is reconfigured. Reconfiguring the theme and saving the new configuration fixes these types of problems which occur quite often, especially when I move sites around from server to server, or restore backed up database to a new or different server.

I found out what it was! The Gallery2 module created an htaccess file in my files folder which i designated as the gallery depository. This was blocking everything!

Thanks for the help.

I found that you can go into the performance module and check that your performance is not set to disabled. If your in normal mode you will have your normal graphics from the starter site setup. if this option becomes disabled form adding mdules you will result with the all white, text only display.
