Images not being displayed after submitting

Imagefield Version: 5.x-2.2

I installed imagefield in order to create a content type that would allow me to upload an image. I managed to created a content type that contained a field to upload an image. The problem I'm running into is that the images aren't actually being displayed. When I go to create content and choose my new image content type I can upload the image and it shows up fine in the preview window after uploading, but when I hit submit it take me to the newly created node and there is no image displayed. It simply has the title I gave it and any body text, but no image. When I go in and edit the node it still is showing the image in the preview window and I've confirmed the image has been uploaded and is stored on the server, but once again when I hit submit no image is being displayed.
