Usability and Documentation of Modules

Hi

I posted a while back about my willingness to join in the Drupal community but not being sure where to start.

The best suggestions were improving usability and documentation, but large parts of this seem to be well covered both on Drupal.org and the wider internet.

Modules, though, look like they need a lot of work. There's a lot of fantastic work there that has helped me a lot. However, some of them are difficult to set up and use. Some are actually impossible.

Is there a to do list related to modules, or should I approach module developers directly?
