Having problems with suckerfish menus

tallmark515 - January 8, 2009 - 00:13

I'm new to Drupal and am trying to setup suckerfish menus in my site.
I followed several sets of instructions on the ThemeSettingsAPI Module Download Site and the Newsflash Theme Download Site and believe I have everything installed correctly. I can enable the ThemeSettingsAPI module and Newflash Theme with no issues, however, when I create a Menu and Menu Item (with the expanded box checked) and then go to Blocks and attempt to select Suckerfish in the drop down menu it isn't even available. Also, I noticed that I only have the option to make basic changes in my Theme Settings (doesn't have an option to enable suckerfish).

It's my guess that for some reason the ThemeSettingsAPI module isn't loading even if the box is checked.

Drupal 6.8 with ThemeSettingsAPI 6.x-1.4 Module and Newsflash Theme (but having same problems with all themes).

I hope I'm in the right place for this question, please help.

Thanks,
Mark

Maybe you should file a support request in Newsflash Theme project?

And next, did you enable the Block (of your menu) inside their suckerfish region?

I did that also, posted it in 3 areas because I'm not sure what component is giving me the issue.

Regarding your other response, I assume you mean did I go to site/admin/build/block and enable Suckerfish for the Menu? I don't even get Suckerfish menus as an option in the drop-down, just the standard options (header, footer, etc.).

I also tried other suckerfish enabled themes and still no luck, I don't get any extra (themesettingsapi) options at all, even in themes/settings... just the standard options.

Thanks for the help though,
Mark

I'm not sure how Newsflash adds their suckerfish support, you sure no proper README inside?

I did several themes with Suckerfish integration. Agregado, Clearblue and some non-drupal.org themes.
You can try these and have a look at them, don't need to put any block. Just normal primary links (make sure you enable expanded property).
Don't even need any external modules.

Currently studying and busy, this is the best i can do for now..

I have not tried Newsflash, hopefully someone would be grateful to help you in this part.

No README, but it's a pretty standard setup.
I'm still clueless...

I guess I'll just try out another theme per your recommendation.

I answered your question in the NewsFlash issue queue. BTW, please don't post in multiple places.
