Excellent module. Unfortunatley, although I can get it to work through manual bulk updating, I can't get it to tag nodes upon creation of the node. In Admin >> Calais, I went to the content type at hand and selected:

Have keywords automatically applied on creation only, and suggested on updates

Is that the right choice?

By the way, what happens if I choose:

Have keywords automatically applied on every update

Does an update trigger a batch submission of nodes to Calais for processing? When do those updates occur, on ever cron run? Do I need to configure that? If I choose the former (add tags upon creation) why would it also "suggest" tags on an update?

Really look forward to getting this terrific module dialed in.

Only Bulk processing does batches of submits, otherwise Calais tags your content on insert/update. If you are not seeing any tags, this could be related to the Relevance Threshold you have specified. Start with a setting of 0 (it wont filter any of them) and then start gradually increasing it from 0.0 to something under 1.0. In practice we have found that a threshold of b/w .45 and .6 works pretty well.

I have the same issue. Using FeedAPI, I save a lot of nodes on each cron run, but none of them is actually tagged on submission, even though the right options are selected for the content type I need.

Amy ideas if this is normal behaviour using FeedAPI ?

Are there any messages in the watchdog log? With FeedAPI and a lot of feeds/items it may be possible that you are exceeding the Calais Web Service request per second limit.

I updated to latest calais version and also reduced the relevance score to 0.35 so it seems to be working now!!
