I have added some terms to the technology vocabulary that ships with calais, but when I bulk process the text isn't picked up for tagging. Does calais only work on terms that come from calais itself? If so they are missing lots of words. The terms Javascript and Jquery aren't getting registered while php does and ajax do. Am I missing something?

Calais does not take any suggestions from terms that we add to those vocabularies. It identifies what it knows (the list is growing all the time) so it will only return things that it knows how to identify. That said, you can go to the forums at http://www.opencalais.com and srop a post about what it is missing. They are very interested in making their product as good as possible and love feedback.
