Open Source Software makes our work possible, so we do our best do make Open Source Software possible by making sure our improved code flows back to the community. Many of our developers are active members of one or more Open Source projects and we sponsor and organize local and international community events.

af83 and Drupal

We’ve sponsored, organized and hosted most of the barcamps, drupalcamps, user group meetings and code sprints in Paris. We contribute to core development of Drupal and to various modules (see the references of Damien, Joeri, and the others). Some of the recent high profile sites using Drupal we developed are: MakeZeBuzz for Universal Music, for SFR the french Vodaphone subsdiary we made their Music portal and an innovation management intranet, an intranet application for the major consulting firm CapGemini, but also smaller sites such as an innovative tourisme port for a start-up Versailles Events (with a constraint based programming interface) or the corporate website of the FaberNovel group.

Our services include consulting (as much on the business model as on the information architecture and the technical architecture), Drupal training, design and development of projects. We can also handle the day to day operations of a major website including thehosting and technical administration, content moderation and the editorial policy. We can pretty much handle projects of any size.

Several of our guys play a key role in the Drupal community and are active on many fronts.

Damien Tournoud leads the Drupal community in France. He is heavily involved in the development and improvement of Drupal core and maintains several contributed modules. He’s also member of the security team and testing brigade, heads the French translation team and writes documentation in French and English. He recently translated and publish the first French language Drupal book.

Joeri Poesen kickstarted the French Drupal community and helps organize events in France and Belgium. He maintains contributed modules and documentation and is technical editor of several Drupal related books. He’s a frequent speaker at national and international events and is particularly interested in education and training.

Ori Pekelman Currently chief software architect for af83 Formerly IT strategist for aSmallWorld.net an exclusive social networking site, Chief of R&D at Internet Patrol specialized in strategic information retrieval on the Internet for the luxury industry and CTO of Omikron Delta LTD specialized in Technical computing software. A veteran Drupal developer helps to organize the Drupal Community in France with regular events, including three DrupalCamp, monthly drupal meetups, code sprints for Drupal Core and preparation for the next DrupalCon in Europe.

Greg Beuthin was the senior project manager for the U.S. office of af83, he moved over to the Paris offices recently. While not a coder, Greg also has several years' experience managing, implementing and administering Drupal websites, and is a member of the Drupal community.

John Faber a member of the Drupal community for 5 years. Currently the COO of the af83 San Francisco office. He also heads up the San Francisco Drupal users group. Formerly president of Ridgeworks, a company that creates database driven content management and e-commerce systems on the Drupal Content Management System.
