Uploading a image/ logo onto pens, or products

I'm looking at adding users logo's onto my uploaded products( currently using ubercart also). How is it best to approach this?

Could I set up a flash file and search for the uploaded image, but would anyone know how to do that. Or could it be like a absolute css overlay of a uploaded image.

Sites like cafepress illustrate how i'd like to do this.
